US midterm elections 2018: ‘STOP playing my music’ – Rihanna RAGES at President Trump

The fiery demand was made via Rihanna’s official Twitter account.

Referencing the claim that her music was being played at Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ campaign rallies she insisted: “Not for much longer.

“Neither me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies.”

Rihanna was responding to reports from Washington Post journalist Philip Rucker that one of her songs was being played at a Trump rally in Tennessee.

Mr Rucker tweeted: “It’s been said a million times, but here’s a million and one – Trump’s rallies are unlike anything else in politics.

“Currently Rihanna’s ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ is blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game. Everybody’s loving it.”

Earlier she had tweeted urging Florida residents to turnout and back Andrew Gillium, the Democrat candidate, to be state governor.

She posted: “Florida: You have the opportunity to make history this election.

“Vote Andrew Gillium. Vote on November 6!”

Rihanna endorsed Hillary Clinton ahead of the 2016 Presidential election.

However, as a national of Barbados she was not eligible to vote herself.

Rihanna is just the latest prominent singer to demand Trump stops playing their music at his rallies.

Alex Rose, frontman for rock band Guns N’ Roses, claimed the Trump campaign is using their music without permission due to legal “loopholes”.

On Sunday he posted: “Guns and Roses like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorised use of their music at political events has formally requested our music not be used at Trump rallies.

“Unfortunately the Trump campaign is using legal loopholes in the various venues’ blanket performance licenses”.

During the 2016 election numerous bands and artists, including Adele, the Rolling Stones and Elton John, requested the Trump campaign stop using their material.
