Fortnite DOWN: Server Status latest following cube event butterfly

Fortnite is down for many players following today’s event on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch and Mobile.

Many streamers have seen their games crash following the cube exploding and players being taken to a different dimension.

The event ended with players being sucked into a new place, created by the cube, before interacting with a butterfly creature.

Leaky Lake has now been transformed, with fans also spotting a new rainbow in the sky.

Fortnite servers look to be affected by the big effect and it appears it may have been caused by an influx of players trying to access the game at the same time.

Epic Games warned of disruption before the big event, which has already seen Playground mode removed.

“The Cube’s rising power has affected some social features; we have temporarily disabled them in the front lobby. Squad up and hunker down for the one-time event occurring at 1 PM ET (6 PM UTC).

“The Cube’s power has overwhelmed the playlists. Stay in-game and be in-match to witness the one-time event occurring at 1 PM ET (6 PM UTC).

“Remember to log in and have your game open early to avoid any potential queue times.”

More will be shared by Epic Games on the current server problems if they persist.
