This is how Jose Mourinho reacted to Man Utd’s late winner against Bournemouth

Manchester United came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 thanks to a late Marcus Rashford strike.

Callum Wilson had put Bournemouth in front before Anthony Martial hit back in the first half.

And Rashford finished the job for United with a finish from inside the six-are box.

It came after a battling display and United were fortunate to still be in the game despite putting Bournemouth under a lot of pressure.

But Rashford’s late strike, coming in the 93rd minute, puts United seventh until the other games today.

It also sees Mourinho’s side move into positive figures in goal difference.

Mourinho celebrated the goal in crazy fashion before returning to his typical stone-faced look seconds later.

And afterwards Mourinho was in a sombre mood, claiming the defence was awful and that he could not understand the first half performance.

“It was the whole first half,” Mourinho said.

“I said at half-time I was the luckiest manager in the Premier League in a half when it should be like 5/6-2.

“We were defensively awful. As a team we didn’t press or do any of the week we did in the week. People watching this game will not believe how hard we worked this week.

“The first half was a disaster. The second half was much better. We created lots of chances and deserved to score before the 92nd minute.”

When asked what he told the players at half time, he said: “I started off positive. I said it is impossible to play worse than we did so the second half will be better for sure. I was happy bringing Ander Herrera into the game.

“I felt we needed him to give more balance and to recover the ball faster. I was happy with that change. It was much better.”
