Netflix streaming UPDATE: Best way to find secret categories REVEALED, here’s how

has tonnes of great TV shows and movies available for streaming – but sometimes it’s tough to know what you’re in the mood for.

Scrolling endlessly through Netflix trying to find that hot boxset to watch or hidden gem movie is something most subscribers will know all to well.

But now there’s a great way for Netflix fans to filter through the huge selection of choice and find what’s right for you.

As long-term Netflix users will know all too well, the streaming giant has some secret codes hidden away from subscribers.

These codes can be posted into a URL in your web browser to unlock extremely specific genre categories previously only available to developers.

In total, Netflix has more than 15,000 individual genres to sort its movies and television shows.

These categories are used by the video on-demand service to work out recommendations for you, based on viewing history.

But instead of routing through these swathes of genres there’s now a much easier way to pinpoint what you should watch next.

Google Chrome users can download an extension right now which helps you search through these Netflix secret categories.

As reported in a post by BGR, a new Google Chrome extension called Better Browse has been released.

This is a free Chrome extension that displays Netflix’s secret categories on the streaming giant’s official website.

After installing the Google Chrome extension you will simply need to click ‘browse all’ at the top of the Netflix homepage.

And from there you will find all of the secret categories listed.

You will be able to narrow down your search by looking through specific genres such as ‘Zombie Horror Movies, ‘Martial Arts Movies’ and ‘Foreign ‘Action & Adventure’ – to name but a few.

The news comes as Netflix has just released their latest high profile boxset release – the sixth and final season of House of Cards.

The curtain closer for the White House epic focuses this time round on Robin Wright’s character Claire Underwood.

This comes after Kevin Spacey, the previous co-lead for House of Cards, was dropped from the show following sexual assault allegations, which he denies.

However, so far the final season of House of Cards has not gone down well with a number of fans.

On IMDB the ratings from viewers for the final season of House of Cards has been extremely poor.

The highest rated season 6 episode was a middling 5.1, while the finale – at the time of writing – holds a 3.4 rating out of 10.
