Fortnitemares COUNTDOWN: Fortnite Halloween end date, time, Finale event, challenges

Fortnitemares is drawing to a close with the big Halloween event finishing this week.

Fortnitemares kicked off in Battle Royale towards the end of October, giving Fortnite BR fans the first chance to experience PvE gameplay.

This had previously only been in Save The World, with Fortnite Battle Royale a PvP mode.

But thanks to the new Cube monsters that Fortnitemares brought Fortnite Battle Royale fans saw a big shake-up to the gameplay.

Unfortunately for those who have been loving the Fortnite Halloween event, it is finishing up much sooner than last year.

The Fortnite Battle Royale Halloween event in 2017 was the first major in-game event that was held in the smash hit Epic Games shooter.

Last year Fortnitemares began at the end of October and lasted for virtually the entirety of November.

This time round Fortnitemares is lasting for just over a week and a half.

Fortnitemares began on Wednesday October 24 and Fortnite fans will see it finish on Sunday November 4.

Epic Games revealed the news earlier this week when they announced the Fortnite Halloween end date on Twitter.

The Fortnite Twitter posted: “Fortnitemares in Battle Royale ends on Sunday, November 4 at 1 PM ET (6 PM UTC).

“Finish your Fortnitemares Challenges by then to unlock the Dark Engine Glider.

“Log in early and be in-match to witness the one-time event occurring at 1 PM ET (6 PM UTC).”

One of the most eye-catching pieces of news in this announcement is the reveal of an upcoming live in-game event.

Past in-game events held towards the tail end of one season have had a major bearing on the following one.

So it’s likely that the in-game this week will start the build up towards Fortnite season 7.

Thanks to a leak, we also know what the Fortnitemares event will be called and how long it will last.

As reported in a post by FortniteIntel, the PlayStation events page said the upcoming live in-game event will be called the Fortnitemares Finale.

It said that the Fortnite Halloween event will last for five minutes.

This may, on the other hand, simply be a placeholder name for the event – with another leak appearing to give more details on it.

The Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter account discovered in-game files labelled as Butterfly.

These files all have sound effects which seem likely to be used in the upcoming event.

Ahead of the Fortnite cube emerging similar files were found in-game by dataminers.

It’s rumoured that the Fortnite ‘Butterfly’ event could all culminate in a brand new point of interest appearing on the Battle Royale map.

This remains to be seen but fans won’t have long to wait.
