Overwatch BlizzCon NEWS: Hero 29 and World Cup 2018 schedule REVEALED

 fans should pay close attention to the BlizzCon 2018 festivities this weekend.

Described as a celebration of the Blizzard gaming community, BlizzCon takes place on the weekend of November 2 in Anaheim, California.

For fans in the UK, the BlizzCon 2018 opening ceremony will begin at 6pm. You can watch the opening ceremony for free on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

With the opening ceremony out of the way, Blizzard will hold an Overwatch developer panel at 8.30pm UK time.

“Join the Overwatch developers as they share what’s next for the game and universe,” reads a BlizzCon post.

If previous years are anything to go by, there’s a good chance the ‘Overwatch: What’s Next’ panel will include a brand new character reveal.

As Daily Star points out, Blizzard revealed Sombra during BlizzCon 2016 and Moira during BlizzCon 2017.

The Junker Queen was first seen (and heard) during the reveal for the Junkertown map.

The Junker Queen appeared in Junkertown posters and heard over the loudspeakers in a the announcement trailer.

Fans would then flood social media with drawings of the Junker Queen and requests for Blizzard to add her to the game.

BlizzCon is also the setting for this year’s Overwatch World Cup, which features eight of the best teams from around the globe.

The first Overwatch quarter-final match takes place at 7.15pm UK time later this evening.

Quarter-final two kicks off at 9.15pm GMT, followed by a third match at 11.15pm and the fourth quarter-final at 1.15am in the morning.

The first semi-final match takes place at 4.30pm on November 3, followed by the second semi-final at 6.30pm.

There’s a bronze medal match at 8.30pm and the Overwatch World Cup finals at 10.45pm GMT.
