Pokemon Go Halloween event end: HUGE update for ‘A Spooky Message’ Spiritomb hunters

‘s Halloween event is coming to an end, although there’s good news if you’re still hunting Spiritomb.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event ends at 8pm UK time on November 1.

This means no more double candy, fewer Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokemon in the wild, and the end of the ‘Spooky Message’ special research quest.

“Hi Trainers, don’t forget that Professor Willow needs your help to get to the bottom of the strange happenings in his lab!” reads a Niantic tweet.

“Be sure to talk to him before 1:00 pm (PDT) on November 1 before this limited-time Special Research goes away.”

But the good news for Spiritomb hunters is that you can still complete the challenge, provided you speak to Professor Willow before the end of the event.

Niantic confirmed as much in a recent post on Twitter: “Hi Andres, even though this Special Research is only available for a limited time, Once you talk to Professor Willow and activate the Special Research, you can complete it at your own pace. Good luck!”

The ‘Spooky Message’ special quest comes in three parts, although part three exclusively revolves around claiming rewards.

Likewise, you don’t actually need to complete the entire questline to encounter Spiritomb.

Instead, you just need to get to the second part of the quest and capture 108 Pokemon of any type.

It’s handy if you live in the middle of nowhere and would struggle to visit eight new PokeStops.

‘A Spooky Message’ part one:

• Catch 10 Ghost-type Pokemon – Duskull Pokemon encounter

• Make 8 Great Throws – 1080 XP

• Use 108 Berries to help catch Pokemon – Lickitung Pokemon encounter
