Fortnite update 6.21 patch: When is Balloons update? Will there be server downtime?

fans have been dealt a blow, as Epic Games delays update 6.21.

The next major Fortnite patch has been given a November 1 release date on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

“Due to a last minute issue discovered within the v6.21 build, we’ve delayed its release until Thursday, November 1,” Epic tweets.

Expect the game to go offline at 8am UK time on November 1, as Epic introduces the update and performs server maintenance.

As part of the early patch notes, players can expect Balloons to be added to the game during the next update.

That’s according to the in-game notifications, which confirm that Balloons are coming to Fortnite soon.

“Inflate balloons to defy gravity!” reads an Epic post. “Add balloons to increase your altitude!”

It looks like Balloons will give players the opportunity to float above the battlefield.

On the plus side, Epic has fixed a problem with the fourth part of the Fortnitemares challenge.

“We’ve released a fix for the following Fortnitemares Challenge: Part 4 – Complete Fortnitemares challenges,” a tweet reads. “You may need to restart your client to receive credit. Dive in and complete those Challenges!”

There’s also a chance Epic Games will introduce gifting to Fortnite Battle Royale.

New Fortnite leaks also hint at the release of the Gifting feature in the next update.

Twitter user Jaren appears to have discovered files showing four different types of Gifting boxes, which means the feature can’t be far off.

Elsewhere, the Epic Games Trello board reveals some of the issues being investigated by the studio.

Epic Games is investigating an issue with crosshairs being blocked for certain outfits while aiming.

There’s also problem with player models in replays sometimes getting stuck with Shadow Stone effects, while music for certain emotes aren’t always playing.

Epic has also fixed multiple Save the World issues, including reload problems and audio cuts.
