Nintendo Direct Smash Bros CONFIRMED: Banjo Kazooie, DLC plans, rumours, leaks

owners will find out the final few details about Super Smash Bros Ultimate this week.

The House of Mario are holding their last Nintendo Direct focused on Super Smash Bros Ultimate on Thursday.

The upcoming Nintendo Direct was announced today and will last for 40 minutes.

Announcing the news, the Nintendo UK VS Twitter account posted: “Tune in at 14:00 (UK time) on 01/11 for the last Super #SmashBros Ultimate Direct presentation before the game’s launch!

“It’ll last approximately 40 minutes.”

Fans have been left furiously speculating about what Nintendo could have planned for the Smash Bros Direct.

One long-standing rumour (and fan hope) is that Banjo Kazooie could be coming to Smash Bros.

Fans are hoping that the Nintendo Direct on Thursday will build up to a big Banjo Kazooie reveal at the end of it.

The beloved character from the N64 classic also featured in an alleged leak that emerged last week.

The leak, first published on Snapchat and then ResetEra, claimed to show the full roster for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

As NintendoWire reported, seven unannounced characters could be made out in a blurry image allegedly showing the complete Smash Bros fighter selection.

These alleged yet-to-be announced characters were Shadow, Banjo Kazooie, Isaac (Golden Sun), Ken, Mach Rider, Geno and Rhythm Heaven’s Chorus Kids.

The veracity of this leak, dubbed by fans as the ‘Grinch leak’, has since been called into question by multiple parties.

Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips today tweeted: “Smash Direct, 2pm UK time on Thursday. Time for last week’s fake leak to get buried for good”.

While ‘Nintendo super fan’ and podcaster Stealth posted: “The Smash Direct will be 40 minutes and thankfully will finally put an end to the Grinch rumor.”

The latter also made a number of eye-catching claims about the upcoming Nintendo Direct in a series of tweets.

The tweeter said the upcoming Smash Direct could be “one of the most watched Directs in the history of Directs.”

They also said that the full fighter roster reveal will not be the biggest draw of the Direct.

They tweeted: “Smash Direct is confirmed for 11/1. We are going to see the final base roster but for me that is not even the big thing of this direct.”

Stealth added: “I believe the big surprise for this direct will be related to how big the DLC plans are.”

The Nintendo Direct will take place at 2pm UK time on Thursday November 1 2018.
