NBA news: LeBron James FUMES, Anthony Davis injury concerns, Jimmy Butler secret

LeBron James

LeBron James has suffered a miserable start to life at Los Angeles Lakers with five defeats in the opening seven games.

The Lakers lost 124-120 against a Jimmy Butler-inspired Minnesota Timberwolves last night.

The result leaves Luke Walton’s side 11th in the Western Conference and James is frustrated his young team-mates are not able to deliver.

The small forward was quizzed after the Lakers’ latest defeat about how close he is to running out of patience – but then he sent a huge warning to his employers.

“You probably don’t want to be around when my patience runs out. I’m serious,” James said.

James then went on to analyse his side’s downfalls, adding: “We gotta get better.

“We know that. We talk about patience, but we can’t have recurrences of the same thing.

“Doing the same things over, and over, and over again and expecting a different result, that’s insanity. We have to get better. We can’t keep having the same mistakes over and over.”

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis skipped his second consecutive match for New Orleans Pelicans as they were downed 116-11 by Denver Nuggets last night.

The power forward has been struggling with an elbow injury it is still unclear when he will return to the side.

“The pain is still there. I don’t think it’s any big deal, but obviously six games into the season we’re not going to take any chances,” said Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry.

“I don’t think it’s anything be worried about.”

Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler has explained how Minnesota Timberwolves managed to contain LeBron James in their NBA win over Los Angeles Lakers.

“I just made a couple of shots. That’s just what it comes down to,” Butler said.

“They’re [Lakers] are a really good team. Got young guys and obviously LeBron.

“They’re talented and made shots, but we played a little bit of defence at the end.”
