Man City ace Bernardo Silva makes Chelsea and Liverpool claim, SNUBS Man Utd

Silva has helped City to an unbeaten start this season as they look to defend their title.

Pep Guardiola’s side romped to the trophy last campaign, finishing 19 points clear of second-placed Manchester United.

Liverpool and Chelsea appear to be the closest challengers to the Etihad outfit this term, with Jurgen Klopp’s side level on points with City on 26 after ten games.

Chelsea sit two points adrift with Arsenal on 22 while United have made a stuttering start to the season.

The 13-time Premier League winners have won just five games this season and are already nine points off the table-toppers.

And Silva has named the four teams that could challenge Manchester City, snubbing United.

“I think it will be harder because last season nobody was expecting us to win as many games and to reach that level of points, so this season the teams know they have to do better to beat us,” he said.

“Of course it will be very hard, but we will work every game to get the three points and at the end of it try and celebrate winning one more Premier League.

“I think either Chelsea and Liverpool (are contenders), they are very strong, Arsenal as well.

“Even Tottenham, even though they lost, they’re still contenders.”

While Silva believes Spurs can still challenge, pundit Chris Sutton disagrees.

Following a 1-0 defeat to City on Monday, Sutton said: “This isn’t a confident Tottenham side. It is just not clicking.

“If Spurs go out of the League Cup in midweek with a limp against West Ham, there will be more questions asked.

“Do this team look like pushing for the title? They look miles off.

“This is why City will take some shifting.

“It was a big win for them. They took the chance early.”
