Fortnite Halloween update: New skins, Fortnitemares challenges and Gifting System?

While many scramble to find the best costumes for Halloween, it appears Epic Games are busy with their own spooky surprises.

Fans are expecting a new Fortnite update to be released tomorrow, October 31, which could be filled with new content.

As fans will already know, the Fortnitemares Challenges Part 4 are being released very soon by Epic Games.

These six new tasks will allow fans to unlock the Dark Engine Glider Reward Item, including:

  • Destroy (10) Elite Cube Monsters – 500 XP
  • Damage (2,500) Cube Fragments – 500 XP
  • Deal (1,000) damage to Cube Monsters in a single match – 500 XP
  • Visit (4) different Corrupted Areas in a single match – 500 XP
  • Destroy (3) Cube Fragments – 500 XP
  • Complete (14) Fortnitemares challenges – 500 XP

And the good news for those who have found themselves running into bugs while trying to complete Parts 1 to 3 is that Epic Games are also working on new fixes.

We’re working on a fix for a couple of Challenge issues.

1) Players are unable to complete the following Fortnitemares Challenge: Complete Fortnitemares Challenges

2) Players must destroy the Cube Fragment in order to receive credit for the Challenge: Damage Cube Fragments

These fixes could be part of a new Fortnite Halloween update being released this week, which is also bound to include new skins for fans.

Every weekly update so far in season 6 has included new skins in the game files which have then been data mined.

Following this process, the skins are leaked online and then start appearing in the Fortnite Shop to buy.

None of these is new to the battle pass, which already has a stated amount of cosmetics to unlock.

There are also suggestions that Epic Games are looking to release a new Gifting System soon.

The new feature has been teased since June 2018 and remains under wraps with Epic Games.

And it appears that the final touches might be being added to the new Gifting System.

Data miners have found evidence that players will be able to add coloured gifting wrapping to their gifts.

A new Gift Wrap tab has been found as part of the UI for the new system, giving players the options to choose between Purple, Red, Yellow, and Blue gift wrapping.

And while it would be nice to see the new Fortnite Gifting System go live tomorrow, it might not have reached full completion yet.

Epic Games have not announced a release date for it yet, so there is still hope for some kind of announcement of that nature very soon.
