Avengers 4 star Karen Gillan SPEAKS OUT on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 future

Since director James Gunn’s firing, the future of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has been up in the air.

And with Drax star Dave Bautista saying he’s not sure if he wants to work for Disney anymore, the lineup for the sequel might be in trouble.

Studios have even dropped a mystery 2020 release date from their slate, suggesting it was probably Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

But now Nebula star Karen Gillan, who appears in Avengers 4 next year, has given an update on the film going forward.

Speaking with The Wrap, she said: “I actually don’t know [what’s going on with Guardians of the Galaxy 3], it’s the honest answer.

“I feel like they’re talking about it and trying to figure out what the next best move is.

“I’m hoping that it all comes together and we get to tell the story. It would be nice to continue it.

“I’m sure they will [continue]. I feel like they will. I don’t really think there’s a chance they won’t [continue the Guardians franchise].”

Both are very funny, brightly coloured and solely set in the cosmic part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – i.e. not Earth. Having proven his talent with Ragnarok, it would make a lot of sense for Waititi to take on the film having already shown he can handle a threequel.

Then there are the Russo Brothers who have directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War and are now editing Avengers 4.

But most crucially of all, they’re the only other filmmakers who have directed the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
