Kate Middleton: Surprising reason Duchess takes official photos of children revealed

Kate Middleton is well known for her appreciation of photography and has taken many photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte that have made it to the public eye as official images.

An expert has revealed the real reason behind Kate choosing to take her own photographs rather than using a professional photographer.

The explanation for Kate’s role is in fact quite surprising and is due to her famous thriftiness.

Gina Jones from Bumpkins, The Baby Show’s lead experts in baby photography, has revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge is trying to “resourceful with money”.

Kate taking photos of her children serves to make the family more relatable, in a way a professional photographer wouldn’t.

“It shows how modern Kate and William are by being more accessible and having a hands-on approach,” Gina told MailOnline.

“It also shows that they are resourceful with money as you often see Kate in high street fashion and sometimes repeating outfits and so by taking her own photos this again shows how she is savvy with money.”

Kate has received much praise of her photography skills as she snaps her little ones at home.

Experts have said the Duchess “really captures her children’s spirits in the photos”.

In fact, Kate’s talents have been recognised by the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

She was given honorary lifetime membership in recognition of her “talent and enthusiasm”.

Dr Michael Pritchard, chief executive of the RPS, said: “The Duchess of Cambridge has had a long-standing interest in photography and its history.

“She is latest in a long line of royal photographers and the society is pleased to recognise her talent and enthusiasm through honorary membership. We look forward to a continuing relationship with her.”

Among Kate’s images is a photo of Prince George holding his sister Charlotte as a baby.

Another touching shot is an image of Charlotte in a yellow cardigan celebrating her second birthday.

Kate’s thriftiness is particularly noticeable when it comes to her fashion sense.

Earlier this month she wore a simple lilac Emilia Wickstead dress to the first Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in London.

The Duchess had worn the dress before in 2017 for a royal tour of Germany with her family.

This week Prince Louis was spotted for the first time with his parents since his christening.

Witnesses reported seeing Kate and William emerging from a helicopter near Kensington Gardens with the young prince.
