The local authorities have said the attack occurred on a police station in central Libya.

The Municipal Council of the Jufra district wrote on Facebook: “Currently, four people from the al-Fuqaha area have died as a result of the attack.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday Libya remains in crisis.

The Russian leader warned any aggression and escalation of antagonism in the country should be avoided at all costs.

Libya has been in a state of crisis since the overthrowing of its former leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.

A highly divisive figure, Gaddafi dominated Libya’s politics for four decades and was the subject of a pervasive cult of personality.

The West viewed him as a dictator who violated human rights and funded global terrorism.

But since Gaddafi was toppled, a power vacuum in Libya has led to turmoil as warring factions scramble to gain control.

The eastern part of the country is governed by a Libyan National Army-backed parliament located in Torbuk.

The UN-backed Government of National Accord stationed in Tripoli – headed by Prime Minister Faye Sarraj – controls the nation’s west.

News of the latest attack in Syria comes after the heinous terrorists took 700 hostages in Syria in an area controlled by US-backed forces.

Putin disclosed the details of the kidnapping after ISIS issued him a stark ultimatum, vowing to kill ten people every day.

The apparent reinvigoration of ISIS in Syria is now being seen across the Mediterranean in Libya as instability in the region facilities the group’s horrific rise.

Unstable political conditions in Libya have allowed a number of militant groans to take root and thrive.

But ISIS has been the strongest group to emerge, frequently carrying out attacks on Libya’s oil and infrastructure.
