Strictly Come Dancing: Stacey Dooley & Kevin Clifton body language is ‘fascinating’

Strictly Come Dancing aired on BBC tonight and saw partners Stacey Dooley, 31, and Kevin Clifton, 36, take to the stage again.

The pair wowed the judges with their Doctor Who-inspired dance on the Halloween special and won impressive scores in tonight’s episode.

Last week it was revealed their body language showed they were enjoying a blossoming friendship

A body language expert has now revealed what tonight’s dance revealed about the dancers’ relationship.

“Stacey powered her way through her Dr Who tango, taking the lead ‘male’ role at times and changing her body language as she switched, pushing Kevin around and bossing him about in a dominant role that she clearly revelled in,” said author and body language expert Judi James.

“Kevin is a very generous partner, allowing Stacey to be the star on the floor rather than touting his own ego as some of the pro dancers can tend to do.

“It was clear that his backseat driving allowed Stacey to soar in terms of confidence.

“Even before they had danced she was holding him with a neck clasp that she juddered slightly to imply it was she motivating him to do well rather than the other way round.

“Stacey even kept in role after the dance, snarling at the judges but then beaming as she heard their glowing comments.

“She saved her softest facial expression for the moment when her boyfriend was picked out in the audience.”

Judi revealed Stacey’s growing confidence is clear as the friendship between her and her partner blossoms.

She said: “Stacey is now powering from week to week and that seems to be heavily down to Kevin’s clear understanding of her and what makes her tick.

“While rumours fly around other couples on this show it’s the relationship between these two that should be the most fascinating because it’s purely professional and sublimely effective in terms of empathy and rapport.”

Unlike fellow contestant Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell, as well as Katya Jones and Seann Walsh, Kevin and Stacey have not fallen foul of the Strictly “curse”.

Despite constantly travelling for work, Stacey has reportedly been in a relationship with fitness trainer Sam Tux since 2014.

The pair often share pictures of each other on their Instagram accounts and Stacey even posted: “Nearly three years ago bad. Miss you and am so grateful you are so patient and understanding with all the times I spend away from home…”

Speaking to The Sun, Stacey previously said she “really should try to get fitter”.

She added: “I don’t have an excuse because my boyfriend Sam is a personal trainer. Occasionally we’ll do a boxing workout together, but that’s very rare.”

Kevin split from wife Karen Clifton in March 2018 but the break-up was amicable and the pair have remained friends.

Stacey’s net worth has also been a matter of speculation since she appeared on Strictly.
