Paul Pogba to Juventus ON: Why Man Utd picture has Italians plotting January transfer

Manchester United midfielder Pogba has run hot and cold under manager Jose Mourinho since arriving at the club in the summer of 2016.

The £89m signing join from Juve to much fanfare but Pogba has laboured to live up to the hype.

He has clashed with Mourinho on a number of occasions and an exit has been mooted, with Juve linked with a possible swoop.

And now Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim the Turin club are pushing ahead with plans to re-sign Pogba and hope an incident during Tuesday’s Champions League clash with United can help them out.

Pogba was after the game as he went to the Juve dressing room to chat to his former team-mates.

The picture has irked a number of United supporters, especially after the Red Devils lost 1-0 to Juve on the night.

Tuttosport claim Juve are hopeful that Pogba being publicly friendly with his former team-mates can help fuel a future transfer.

It is claimed they ‘want to take advantage of the moment’ and that a January swoop is on the horizon.

Whether would accept an offer to sell Pogba in January remains to be seen.

The France international remains one of the most recognisable faces in the squad and possesses a hefty commercial value.

And were it to be a split between the player and manager, United may opt to sack Mourinho.

The boss was close to losing his job in recent weeks but a turnaround in results – including a win over Newcastle and draw at Chelsea – has staved off the axe for now.
