Davina McCall reveals her top secret to achieving rippling abs in your 50s

Davina McCall is set to unveil her top secrets to nailing enviable abs, no matter what age you are.

The former Big Brother contestant has released numerous fitness DVDs which showcase her impressive physique.

Her abdominal muscles are particularly defined, making her an inspirational figure when it comes to those looking to shape up.

Davina has now revealed how she got her amazing six-pack as she prepares to release her new DVD, Davina: Power Box and Tone.

The new DVD offering follows on from the star’s hugely successful Toned in 10 and promises to build fitness, strength and tone with a completely new workout programme.

“I’m so proud of this DVD,” said Davina. “It’s a really upbeat workout which focusses on boxing style movements to build strength and tone.

“It works your whole body, but with an emphasis on building fitness and there are aerobic intervals in there too, to make sure there is some essential fat burning as well as toning up.”

The fitness DVDs – just as with her previous regimes – focuses on boxing-style movements with sections on cardio, strength and movement.

The workout is broken down into short sections of 5-10 minutes, which means the DVD can be done as a full workout over an hour, or in smaller, more manageable blocks – making it ideal for anyone short of time or new to exercise.

“I want to inspire other women that you can be fit and strong at any age,” said Davina.

“I have been that person who didn’t love working out, so I do understand how hard it can be.

“But if you’ve never tried anything like this, I would urge you to give it a go. It could be life changing.”

Davina often shows off her impressively taut abs on Instagram to her loyal followers.

However, the DVD comes after numerous fans said that she looked unwell as a result of her gruelling fitness regime.

But Davina hit back at critics, calling the worry about her appearance a “hooha.”

She wrote: “Jesus! Talk about hooha!!! Two pics… same day I chose one on the right coz I liked my 6 pack but just so you can all calm down here is one without. Look at my insta … happy and healthy.”

The TV presenter is currently training with LDN Muscle’s PT Academy in order to become a personal trainer.

Earlier this year, she passed her Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing, one step closer to becoming a fully qualified personal trainer.

Davina makes sure she works out four to five times a week, even if it’s just for a short amount of time.

She has also explained that cutting sugar out of her diet made the world of difference to keeping trim.
