As Galaxy S9 prices continue to crash, Galaxy S10 rumoured to bring a colourful change

Galaxy S9 was announced by Samsung back in February before its release the following month.

The hardware was certainly more interested in providing incremental improvements over the S8 than radical overhauls.

That is because the S9 retained a very familiar design to its predecessor while making a few improvements.

The device’s fingerprint sensor was moved below the camera sensor to make it more accessible for instance.

Galaxy S9’s biggest upgrade came with its camera’s new aperture that was able to open or close depending on lighting conditions.

And Samsung fans are slowly running out of reasons not to pick up a Galaxy S9 thanks to huge price cuts.

Galaxy S9 with 64GB of internal storage is currently available for just £530 on Amazon.

And while the hardware is selling for £739 on Samsung’s official store, the firm is offering substantial savings if you trade-in your old device.

Samsung will give customers £350 if they hand over their old iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, meaning you can pick up a Galaxy S9 for just £389.

Moreover, the South Korean tech giant will also give Galaxy S8 owners up to £300 for their hardware, meaning an S9 can be purchased for £439.

But amid a flurry of available savings for the Galaxy S9, more details seem to be emerging about its successor, the Galaxy S10.

A recent report from Bloomberg insisted the Galaxy S10 will come in three varieties, with one being a “more affordable version”.

It was also mentioned all three devices will come with a fingerprint scanner underneath their respective displays.

However, the outlet, citing people familiar with Samsung’s plans, insisted at least one version of the S10 will have a triple-camera system on its rear.

And now it appears the tech giant is planning to introduce a very colourful change to its next flagship.

Notable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer recently tweeted and declared, according to “sources”, the Galaxy S10 will arrive in black, grey, blue, red, green and yellow finishes.

He said: “According to my sources, Black, Grey, Blue, Red, Green and Yellow have been locked as final Galaxy S10 colour options.”

Such a decision would mark a shift from Samsung tradition in recent years that has offered a more limited colour selection for its devices.

The Galaxy S9 is currently only available in black, blue and purple colour options in the UK.

Although Hemmerstoffer was eager to detail colour options for the Galaxy S10, it was not clarified whether all of the finishes mentioned would arrive across the globe or if some would be region specific.

It is presumed the Galaxy S10 will be revealed at Mobile World Congress that will take place at the start of next year.
