Thibaut Courtois’ BRUTAL verdict to Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte taking Real Madrid job

Real Madrid’s slow start under Julen Lopetegui has put the Spaniard’s future at the Bernabeu in doubt.

With just nine league games of the season gone, Los Blancos already find themselves seventh in the table, four points adrift of leaders Barcelona.

Reports last week suggested club president Florentino Perez was considering sacking Lopetegui with the Spaniard given three games to save himself.

He started that run of fixtures with a shock 2-1 defeat to Levante on Saturday before getting a win under his belt in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen in midweek.

Lopetegui is far from out of the woods yet though with his first El Clasico with Barcelona taking place on Sunday (3.15pm BST).

Widespread reports suggest former Chelsea boss Conte is being lined up to replace him with Perez already making contact, while a shock return to the Spanish capital for Manchester United manager Mourinho has also been mooted.

But it seems Courtois would be against either of his former bosses joining him in Spain.

Spanish newspaper El Pais claim news of Lopetegui’s seemingly impending dismissal reached the Real Madrid dressing room on Monday morning.

And when mentions of Mourinho and Conte came up as potential replacements, Courtois was brutal in his verdict of the proposition.

“I can not believe it!” El Pais quote Courtois saying.

“Here I am the only one who has worked with Conte and with Mourinho.

“I left London to not have to go through something like that again and now it turns out that Conte comes, and if not, Mourinho.”

Prior to his move to the Bernabeu in the summer, Courtois had been at Chelsea since 2011, when the Blues snapped him up from Genk.

The Belgian initially struggled to find his feet in west London and had to go on loan at Atletico Madrid for three seasons to prove himself.

Mourinho was the man to bring him back from Atletico to battle Petr Cech for a starting spot but it seems all was not rosy behind the scenes.

Courtois’ relationship with Conte also reportedly soured last season as the shot-stopper looked to force his way out of the club.

With Courtois seemingly hoping a reunion isn’t on the cards anytime soon, El Pais claim he has recommended Roberto Martinez to the Madrid board.

Martinez guided Belgium to the World Cup semi-finals over the summer and Courtois is a big fan of the Spaniard’s playing style.

For now though, all eyes will be on Lopetegui this weekend when his side make the trip to the Nou Camp.

Madrid have been boosted by the absence of Lionel Messi with the Barcelona talisman out for three weeks with a fractured arm.
