Time Warner Centre in New York EVACUATED after suspicious package found

According to a law enforcement official, a bomb squad is en route to the centre.

The Time Warner Centre is where the CNN offices are located.

This evacuation comes just a day after the building was evacuated due to a bomb being incorrectly sent to the building.

It is unknown if this is related to the string of bombs that have been sent to high ranking Democratic politicians, including two former presidents.

An NYPD spokesperson said: “As a precaution, the NYPD is currently evaluating a pair of unattended packages at the Time Warner Center Mall, Columbus Circle in Manhattan.”

The entire building is not being evacuated.

The three lower floors of the centre have been evacuated, while it appears CNN’s headquarters have not been affected.

According to the NYPD, officers have investigated the suspicious package and have deemed it safe with no hazardous materials being found.

On Wednesday, CNN and several other individuals received suspicious packages in the mail that were later discovered to contain pipe bombs.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, along with his wife Hillary were also recipients of the packages.

However, the Secret Service intercepted the bombs before they could be opened by the two former heads of state.

The first device was found at the home of billionaire George Soros.

Since then, former Vice President Joe Biden, former head of the CIA John Brennan, US Congresswoman Maxine Waters and several others have also received bombs in the mail.

Currently, the FBI is looking into possible leads in Florida where they believe several devices were mailed from.

All of the packages are similar in appearance and have a return address listed for Florida Democratic Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who also received a package containing an explosive device.

New York City Police Commissioner James P O’Neil said all of the packages contained “live devices” and that they should be “treated with the utmost seriousness”.
