Red Dead Redemption 2 release date COUNTDOWN: Launch times, reviews, pre-orders, pre-load

The Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is finally here, as Rockstar’s Western adventure hits PS4 and Xbox One.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has an October 26 release date on PlayStation and Xbox.

Digital pre-order customers will be able to play the game from midnight tonight in the UK.

Retailers like GAME will also be open from 10.30pm on October 25. Physical copies of the game will go on sale at midnight.

A number of 24-hour supermarkets like ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury’s will also have the game on sale at midnight tonight.

If you have pre-ordered the game then it’s worth pre-loading ahead of launch.

Physical and digital copies of the game weigh in at a bumper 99GB on PS4 and a gargantuan 107GB on Xbox One.

Then there’s the day-one patch, which is 3.3 GB on PS4 and 3.2GB on Xbox One.

“The Day-One Title Update includes a range of across-the-board improvements and bug fixes for optimal performance,” Rockstar explains.

“We strongly recommend making sure you have downloaded the Title Update before launching the game, to ensure the best possible gameplay experience.”

According to a recent Metacritic tweet, the Red Dead Redemption 2 review embargo lifts on October 25.
