Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have a big problem so when will Google release a fix?

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were announced by Google at its scheduled hardware event in New York City on October 9.

Both Android flagships were revealed in full alongside the Google Home Hub and Google Pixel Slate.

The new smartphones boast a wealth of features that will surely make them appealing to Android fans when they release on November 1.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with a revamped design with both flaunting a rear glass panel that allows for wireless charging.

Moreover the displays on both devices look incredibly vibrant thanks to the OLED technology present.

Google’s Pixel series of smartphones are renowned for their highly capable cameras and the Pixel 3 is no different.

In fact, Express.co.uk said Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have the “best rear camera on a smartphone right now” in our review.

But it appears a number of Pixel users are currently experiencing problems with snapping photos.

The founder of Android Police, Artem Russakovskii, recently detailed a bug where images would fail to save after taking them.

Explaining the issue, he said: “I’ve been observing a bug where photos taken on Pixel phones (Pixel 2s/2 XLs and now Pixel 3s/3 XLs) sometimes don’t save at all.

“The little preview icon in the Camera gallery circle shows it. You switch to Photos or some other app, and poof, it’s not there.

“Switch back to Camera, and you can watch the preview actually disappear in front of your eyes and go back to the previous picture that did save.

“It’s been happening to me on the Pixel 2 XLs, but before I got the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.”

The problem seemed to occur if the Pixel user immediately closed the camera application or switched to another piece of software after capturing a photo.

But Google has now acknowledged the issue and insisted a fix will arrive “in the coming weeks”.

Commenting on Artem Russakovskii’s thread on Google’s product forum, a community manager at the tech firm said: “Thanks everyone for all the feedback!

“We will be rolling out a software update in the coming weeks to address the rare case of a photo not properly saving.”

However, no precise date for the remedy was provided.
