OnePlus 6T leak reveals almost every detail about this budget Android flagship

OnePlus 6T is the successor to the OnePlus 6 that was critically-acclaimed when it debuted earlier this year.

The OnePlus 6T is expected to build upon everything its predecessor did right while also introducing a number of new features.

Most notably the hardware will come with a fingerprint reader underneath its display.

Similar technology was recently showcased by Huawei during the reveal of its new Mate 20 Pro device.

One of the most controversial features about the OnePlus 6T is the Chinese firm’s decision to forgo a headphone jack on the hardware.

While the company has declared such a move was difficult to make, it has emphasised new features such as improved battery life will come as a result.

OnePlus will hold a hardware event in New York City on October 29 that will lift the lid on its new device.

But ahead of the grand unveiling, the phone has been plagued by a number of leaks that appear to have outed its best features.

The newest of which comes from a German retailer named Otto that recently featured a listing for the OnePlus 6T.

The Shenzhen-based company’s newest smartphone entry was said to come with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display at a 1080p resolution.

If true, this would mark a small bump in screen size from the OnePlus 6 that arrived with a 6.28-inch panel.

Moreover, it appears the OnePlus 6T will arrive with a significantly bigger battery than its predecessor.

The forthcoming hardware was listed as boasting a 3,700mAh pack rather than the 3,300mAh battery present on the OnePlus 6.

Otto’s listing of the OnePlus 6T insists the device will arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo rather than the latest and greatest from Google.

However, such claims appear to be disproven by the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, who has confirmed the new smartphone will come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie.

In a post on Chinese forum site Weibo, he said: “Of course, the 6T will ship with Android P.”

It is expected the OnePlus 6T will follow tradition by releasing in multiple models with different amounts of RAM and storage configurations.

The particular model showcased in the Otto listing mentions the device touting 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

The device is priced at €579 (£511.07).

While the latest leak appears to have revealed a score of features about the OnePlus 6T, fans of the Chinese firm will not have to wait long to hear if everything mentioned is legitimate.

OnePlus’ hardware event will take place Monday, October 29.
