Mega Millions lottery: When is the next Mega Millions lottery draw?

Tuesday night’s Mega Millions draw saw a record-breaking amount of money won by one lucky person.

The prize won was $1.6 billion (£1.2 billion).

The winning numbers were drawn on Tuesday night and were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 with the Mega Ball being 5.

The prize was so large as no-one had won for three months.

The last winners won on June 24 and were a group of 11 co-workers.

They split the eyewatering $543million jackpot between them.

When is the next Mega Millions draw?

Mega Millions draws take place twice weekly.

They are drawn on a Tuesday and a Friday.

This means that the next draw will take place on Friday, October 26.

The estimated jackpot will be $40million (£30.98million).

The winner of Tuesdy’s record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot bought their ticket in South Carolina. 

The South Carolina Education Lottery claimed on their website that the winning ticket had been bought in the state.

The winner is yet to be identified but has choices to make about how to recieve their winnings.

Lottery officials said the cash payout is $913 million for the winner of Tuesday’s jackpot.

The winner also has the option of claiming their prize as an annuity which would be paid out over 29 years.

For those who missed out on the Mega Millions, there is a chance to win another substational amount of mony on Thursday.

The Powerball will be drawn on Thursday, October 25.

This has a lower but by no means insignificant prize fund of an estimated $620million (£478million).
