Mourinho wants centre-back

Jose Mourinho is still trying to convince Ed Woodward and the United board to sign a top centre-back, the Sunday Times claims.

They say Mourinho wants a player of the calibre of Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

Koulibaly, 27, was tipped to head to the Premier League in the summer, with United and Chelsea keen on the Senegal international.

And although the defender penned a new contract with Napoli this year, The Times add that Koulibaly is open to heading to England.

Chelsea make Hazard decision

Chelsea are set to make Eden Hazard the highest paid player in the Premier League after he signalled that he is ready to end his career at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard had been stalling on signing a new deal amid a flurry of speculation linking him to Real Madrid, but he is ready to turn his back on the Spanish giants.

Chelsea have been waiting for more than a year for the Belgian star to put pen to paper on a £300,000-a-week contract – but are now willing to go much higher after his impressive start to the new season.

They want to re-open talks before Christmas and are ready to go as high as £350,000-a-week if Hazard will commit himself for the next four or five years.

Man Utd told to pay up

Man Utd have been told to pay more than £40m for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a new centre-half in January and he’s readying a bid.

However, The Sun say United have been told they must pay £40m for Milenkovic.

The Red Devils are only willing to fork out around £30m for the defender in the January transfer window.

Arsenal eye Barcelona star Malcom

Arsenal are eyeing a January loan move for Barcelona ace Malcom.

Spanish newspaper Sport claim the Gunners are battling with Tottenham and Inter Milan for the winger.

Malcom joined Barca in the summer, however, the forward has played just 25 minutes of action.

Reports have claimed he is keen to get game time elsewhere.

Balague on Pogba to Barcelona

Talk of Paul Pogba joining Barcelona is down to his agent Mino Raiola, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has told Express Sport.

He said of the Manchester United star: “I think he would prefer to sort things out at Manchester United first of all.

“What I know is Barcelona have not approached anybody relating to Pogba.

“It was all his agent, Mino Raiola, putting things out there, but, if he does become available, they will be interested.”
