Fortnite Halloween Cube event NEWS: Fortnitemares coming with next Epic update

developer Epic Games is getting ready to hold a big in-game Halloween event called Fortnitemares.

The upcoming Fortnite event has been teased with brand new artwork on Twitter.

Judging by the imagery used in the tweets, the event will have something to do with Kevin the cube.

“Costumes and dancing,” reads an Epic Games tweet. “Partner up, be wise. They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise. #Fortnitemares”

A second tweet features an image of the cube in chains, as well as a brand new poem.

“Tombstones quake,” the tweet reads. “Keep your finger steady. The circle will close, Better be ready.”

It’s possible the limited time event will feature a PVE element in which the undead invade the map.

In terms of a release date, fans should find out more during this week’s Battle Royale update.

The next Fortnite update is likely to land on Tuesday, October 23.

According to the Fortnite Trello board, Epic Games is looking into Alpha Tournament issues.

The studio is also investigating an issue with crosshairs being blocked for certain outfits while aiming.

Elsewhere, Player models in Replays are sometimes getting stuck with Shadow Stone effects.

There’s also a problem with music for certain emotes not playing. There’s no date on these fixes, so it’s unlikely they’ll be completely sorted for the next update.

It’s been a busy week for Fortnite developer Epic Games.

The studio released a major patch last week, complete with in-game tournaments, PS4 Pro upgrades and even a new vehicle.

Fortnite has also been given a new update that changes the way games begin.

In order to make the action even more fast, frantic and chaotic, the Battle Bus has been given an update in the engine department.

Epic Games announced the news on Twitter, revealing that the Battle Bus would now travel at greater speeds.

“The Battle Bus is test driving an engine upgrade and now travels 25% faster while flying,” reads an Epic tweet.

“Remember, always buckle up and thank your driver!”
