Barcelona news: Messi injury update for Real Madrid, Pogba EXCLUSIVE, Valverde on future

Barcelona Messi update for Real Madrid

Barcelona have confirmed Lionel Messi will be out for three weeks following his arm injury against Sevilla on Saturday.

And that means he will not be able to feature in their El Clasico showdown with Real Madrid.

A statement said: “Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm.

“He will be out for approximately three weeks. FuerzaLeo.”

It means that, for the first time since 2007, neither Messi nor Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo will feature.

Pogba EXCLUSIVE

Talk of Paul Pogba joining Barcelona is down to his agent Mino Raiola, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has told Express Sport.

He said of the Manchester United star: “I think he would prefer to sort things out at Manchester United first of all.

“What I know is Barcelona have not approached anybody relating to Pogba.

“It was all his agent, Mino Raiola, putting things out there.

“But, if he does become available, they will be interested.”

Valverde on future

Ernesto Valverde is relaxed over his Barcelona future, insisting he is not worried about extending his contract.

“My future at Barca does not matter to me, I do not care,” said Valverde.

“I’m focused on the two matches that come and the noise that there is always around the team is the usual and you cannot do anything.”

Valverde’s current deal expects in June 2019.
