WWE news: Will John Cena win the World Cup Tournament at WWE Crown Jewel? ODDS

Cena will be part of the eight-man tournament, which will determine the best in the world at the King Saud University Stadium.

The Champ will face the likes of The Miz, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, RAW Tag Team Champion Dolph Ziggler and Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins.

According to Skybet, the 16-time world champion is the favourite to stand tall with odds of 7/4.

Mysterio, who returned to WWE after a three-year absence during Smackdown’s 1,000th episode, is the next likeliest winner as he faces odds of 7/2.

Orton completes the top three with 4/1 and is followed by Rollins (5/1), The Miz (7/1), Angle (10/1), Ziggler (16/1) and Hardy (16/1).

Cena’s last match took place at WWE Super Show-Down in Australia where he teamed up with Bobby Lashley and defeated Kevin Owens as well as Elias in a Tag Team Match.

The 16-time world champion now works on a part-time basis with Vince McMahon’s promotion due to his busy Hollywood schedule and the fact he is now in the advanced age of 41 years old.

After his return match, the ex-WWE Champion fuelled recent speculation suggesting he will be retiring soon as he stated he has no idea what the future holds.

However, the former World Heavyweight Champion then said that his career is not over yet but he can no longer keep up with WWE’s gruelling full-time schedule.

Cena said: “I’m in the best shape of my life but now […] as a 41-year-old man especially someone who’s had his attitude change about a lot of things in life one of those things is, how am I gonna get around when I’m 70 [years old]? How am I gonna get around when I’m 80?

“I can’t look at 41 being like, ‘Well I’m lucky if I make it past this year’.

“I’m trying to do the best I can to live as healthy as I can and I know for a fact a full-time WWE schedule is a young man’s game.

“It would just be the amount of hours in the day [that would take the biggest toll out of me].

“So, to give you an example, at 26 or 32 [years old] I could literally just show up and go.

“And now I have to wake up every morning and break a sweat for 20 minutes and then stretch for 35 minutes to get through a day of sitting down and doing interviews.

“So repeat that process on a day of a performance, then go work out, then go do it before a match and then go cool down after a match and then add all the logistics into everything…

“It’s not that I can’t go, I think the quote is, ‘I’m not as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was’.”
