US Grand Prix qualifying LIVE stream: How to watch Lewis Hamilton online and on TV

Hamilton can win the World Championship this weekend by securing eight more points than Sebastian Vettel.

The Brit was the quickest in both of the first two practice sessions in the rain on Friday.

But as the sky cleared and the track dried, title-rival Sebastian Vettel recorded the quickest lap time in the final practice session today, with Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen in second.

However, Mercedes were not going full throttle and they are expected to improve for qualifying tonight.

Hamilton will also be boosted by the fact Vettel has been slapped with a three-place penalty for speeding during a red flag in FP1.

It means the German can start the race from as high as fourth, but Mercedes boss Toto Wolff is not best pleased with the punishment.

“It’s difficult because there was a decision that I thought was a bit harsh against Esteban [Ocon] last weekend [in Suzuka] and it sets a precedent,” said Wolff.

“For the Championship, obviously it’s not good if Sebastian would get a penalty, we’d rather have him there and put on a great show.”
