Red Dead Redemption 2 REVIEWS: Bad news for PS4, Xbox One fans

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been dealt a blow ahead of the October 26 release date.

With anticipation at an all-time high, it has just been revealed when reviews will drop for the new Red Dead release.

And the bad news is that fans have to wait a whole week for the review scores to go live.

According to a new Metacritic tweet, the Red Dead Redemption 2 review embargo lifts on October 25.

“Reviews will start going up on Thursday, October 25 at 4:01am Pacific. Any Metascore predictions for this HIGHLY anticipated title?”

The time difference means that UK fans will find out at 12.01pm BST on Thursday, October 25.

Expectations are high for the game, which will be playable the following day on October 26.

In the run up to the October 26 launch, Rockstar has posted new information about the game’s weapons.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will boast more than 50 weapons, and a ton of customisation options.

“There are over 50 unique usable weapons, a massive range of options for customisation, and a wide selection of different ammunition types to improve accuracy, range or damage,” reads a Rockstar post.

Interestingly, the weapons will actually degrade over time, which means you’re going to need to take care of them.

“The more a gun is used, the better it will perform, but it will also start to degrade over time if not looked after, so a trusty sidearm needs to be kept oiled and clean.”

Rockstar has also explained more about the customisation elements, which include visual and performance upgrades.

“With a myriad of customisation options ranging from visual upgrades like new metals, woods, varnishes and engravings to performance upgrades like new barrels, grips, sights and scopes, you can design an entirely unique weapon that looks and handles exactly the way you want it to.

“Every weapon’s performance varies in terms of damage, range, fire rate, accuracy and reload speed so it’s important to pick wisely depending on the situation.”

The studio even has a few tips for new players, telling fans that the Double-Action Revolver is perfect when on horseback.
