Pokemon Go Generation 4 RELEASE: Which Sinnoh Pokemon can you catch today? Gen IV list

players around the world can finally get their hands on 24 brand new entries for their Pokedex.

The latest Pokemon Go update introduces some well-familiar creatures from the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games.

Pokemon Go creators at Niantic Labs teased the regional update last week with a picture of the fire-type starter Pokemon Chimchar.

With a bit of luck and patience, Chimchar together with water-type Piplup and grass-type Turtwig can now all be caught.

Niantic said: “The world of Pokémon GO is evolving once again!

“This week, keep an eye out for Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, featured in Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum!

“Get ready to see Pokémon like Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup as they appear in Pokémon GO for the first time ever.”

The Gen IV Pokemon will make their way into Pokemon Go in waves, over a number of weeks.

Currently, Pokemon Go has only introduced 24 out of the 107 Pokemon from the Sinnoh region and that includes evolutions.

This Pokemon Gen IV list will grow over the coming weeks, so follow Express.co.uk for the latest Pokemon Go updates.

Rumour has it, Niantic might line up the release of some ghost-type Gen IV Pokemon just in time for Halloween.

If true, we could see the ghost-flying type balloon Pokemon Drifblim or ghost-dark Spritiomb make a surprise entry.

Pokemon Gen IV legendaries Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina, Cresselia, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus will likely be reserved for special community day events, raids and challenges.
