Arsenal news: Ozil, Koscielny and Maitland-Niles in training as Emery joins latest session

Unai Emery and his Arsenal squad were hard at work on the training pitch as the Gunners look to continue their winning streak at home to Leicester this weekend.

have won nine consecutive matches across all competitions prior to the international break and currently sit joint top of the Premier League.

Manager Emery will be looking to maintain that momentum when Leicester are the visitors to the Emirates on Sunday and was seen getting stuck into his team’s latest training session.

The Spaniard was spotted taking an active part in several drills as the Gunners were put through their paces in the rain on Wednesday.

While several players are yet to return from international duty, was one of the senior stars training alongside a mix of reserve and youth players.

The German sat out the 5-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, having suffered a back spasm in the Europa League victory against Qarabag earlier in the week.

However, the 30-year-old is available for selection this week and should return to the starting XI.

Meanwhile, another familiar face was also spotted at London Colney as Laurent Koscielny continues his recovery from an Achilles injury.

The Frenchman was undergoing some light running work and is aiming to be back in full training next month.

There was further good news as Ainsley Maitland-Niles took part in the session, with the 21-year-old working his way back after a fractured fibula.

Petr Cech is nearing a return after a hamstring injury while Danny Welbeck withdrew from the England squad with a similar problem, although it is not thought to be too serious.

Elsewhere, Konstantinos Mavropanos should also be back in training during the next three weeks as the Gunners target a clean bill of health throughout their entire squad.
