Virgin Media offers FREE broadband speed boost as ultimate Sky TV deal ends this week

Every week there seems to be bigger and better deals from the leading TV and broadband suppliers.

Just last week to customers signing up to a new contract and now the service is offering to boost broadband speeds for free.

The new deal offers anyone signing up to the Full House, Mix and Player bundles double the internet speeds without paying extra.

This means that you can now get 100Mbps broadband, via the Player bundle, for just £32 per month.

Those wanting an even faster service can take out the Mix (£47 per month) or Full House (£57 per month) and receive 200Mbps broadband.

At that speed you can download a full HD movie in around 3 minutes – that’s around 30 minutes faster than the national average.

Virgin states that customers will get this broadband speed boost for the next 12 months although the deal is only available for a limited time.

This extra speed comes just a few weeks after Virgin announced the launch of a dedicated 4K channel which will only show content in Ultra HD quality.

This new service went live in September and is free for Virgin TV Full House and VIP customers with a V6 set-top box.

Virgin says that anyone with those premium bundles can tune into a collection of critically acclaimed dramas, documentaries and watch a selection of hot-ticket concerts at no extra cost in Ultra HD.

Although getting faster speeds is always welcome there is another good deal currently available for one of Virgin’s biggest rivals.

Sky has just revealed that, for a limited time, it is offering Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment for just £45 per month.

That’s a saving of £33 per month off the usual price.

The lasts for 18 months and includes a 1TB Sky Q box plus the ability to watch all of this top TV in HD resolution.

Those that do upgrade to Sky Q will also be treated to Netflix which launches on the platform next month.

Sky says customers with Sky Q and Netflix accounts will be able to see these services integrated for the first time from November with two simple options available for payment and viewing.

For those that want the most interactive service, Sky is launching something called Ultimate On Demand.

This allows Netflix and Sky content to appear side-by-side within in the main Q home screen making it simple to watch shows from both services.

If you simply want to use your current Netflix account, a new app will also be available on the Q platform next month.
