Mate 20 Pro release LIVE STREAM: How to watch Huawei reveal online

Mate 20 Pro keynote LIVE STREAM

UPDATE TWO: Huawei Mate 20 Pro live stream has officially started.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu has taken to the stage and is expected to discuss the Mate 20 Pro shortly.

UPDATE ONE: Huawei is expected to lift the lid on its forthcoming Mate 20 Pro flagship in 10minutes.

The Chinese tech behemoth has started its live stream on YouTube that will continue throughout the presentation.

ORIGINAL STORY: Huawei has confirmed the Mate 20 Pro will arrive with the Chinese firm’s latest and greatest processor.

At the German tech show IFA that took place over the summer, Huawei showed off the Kirin 980 that is built on a 7nanometre process, much like Apple’s A12 Bionic chip.

During the unveiling of the new chipset the Chinese tech giant insisted it outperformed Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor that powers a number of Android flagships such as the OnePlus 6, Galaxy Note 9 and LG G7 ThinQ to name a few.

Huawei claims the 7nanometre process is responsible for huge performance gains and efficiency.

Apple made similar statements during the unveiling of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max that feature the American company’s A12 Bionic chip.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro is also expected to come flaunting a similar triple-camera setup to the P20 Pro when it is unveiled later on today.

But it appears the location of the sensors will change, moving from a vertical position on the left-hand side of the device’s rear panel to the centre.

Alleged renders of the product have showcased such a design move and Huawei has even hinted at a square camera housing itself.

The Chinese firm recently showed off a teaser video for the forthcoming Android smartphone that ended with the words “this is Mate” inside a shape that looked incredibly similar to that of the claimed camera cutout.

WinFuture recently emphasised the Mate 20 Pro will tout a 24-megapixel front-facing camera that will be capable of providing face-unlock functionality.

Furthermore the publication added the Mate 20 Pro will cost €999 (£876.38) for a version of the device with 128GB of memory and 6GB of RAM.
