Princess Eugenie wedding: ‘Exclusion zone’ around Sarah Ferguson, expert claims

Princess Eugenie, 28, married her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, 32, at Windsor Castle earlier this week.

The couple were joined by many members of the Royal Family as well as a number of A-list celebrities.

Along with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William, stars such as Demi Moore and Naomi Campbell also joined the celebrations.

The official photographs of the Royal Family at the wedding have since been released with Eugenie and Jack’s closest family members.

This included their parents and siblings, as well as the Queen, Prince Philip, and all of the page boys and bridesmaids.

Her mother, Sarah Ferguson was spotted to the right of the photograph near Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice.

What did the body language show about the relationship between the Duchess of York and the Royal Family?

Body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk what it could represent.

“There seems to be a very subtle exclusion zone around Sarah during the official photos that would define her divorced status,” she said.

“She and Andrew stand away at the far end of the back row while Jack’s parents nestle beside him, and the large spatial gap is barely filled by daughter Beatrice.”

Eugenie’s sister was noticeably absent during the entrance of the bride, opting to stay with her mother instead.

“Beatrice did seem to spend the ceremony acting as companion and support-in-chief to Sarah to ensure she didn’t look too isolated and lonely and this pose suggests she is still operating in this role,” Judi said.

“In reality the huge gap is actually more about the fact that Philip and the Queen are sitting in front, but given the history it does appear to take on some extra significance.”

The relationship between the Queen and Sarah Ferguson was fraught at times surrounding the divorce in 1992 between Prince Andrew and Sarah.

However, the body language between Sarah and Prince Philip, however, appear to show a softening in their relationship.

Judi explained: “Prince Philip could hardly have been more impeccable in terms of his own non-verbal signals with his son’s ex-wife lurking behind him.

“With his leg splay and hand splay he looks warm, comfortable and relaxed here, ensuring there is no visual hint of the rumoured rifts between himself and Sarah.”

In the official photographs, Princess Eugenie also revealed her second wedding dress for the event.

The dress, designed by Zac Posen, flattered the new bride’s figure with a nipped-in waist and long sleeves.
