Khabib Nurmagomedov calls out Floyd Mayweather: Is he QUITTING UFC after McGregor win?

Only last week did the Russian fighter retain his UFC lightweight title in a stunning fight with rival Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

Nurmagomedov won by submission in the fourth round before leaping out the octagon and attacking the Irishman’s training partner Dillon Danis.

But it seems he could be set to follow McGregor into the boxing ring should Mayweather accept his offer.

A video emerged on Saturday night showing Nurmagomedov standing alongside Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions.

Nurmagomedov says to the camera: “Hey let’s go Floyd, we have to fight now.

“50 and 0 verses 27 and 0, two guys that never lose. Let’s go, why not?

“Because in the jungle only one king, only one king.”

“Of course I am the king. Because he [Mayweather] can not drop McGregor but I drop him easily.”

Ellerbe seemingly approves of Nurmagomedov’s comments, shaking his hand and saying: “You’ll get some of that work baby.”

Nurmagomedov has already threatened to walk away from the UFC if the promotion punish his countryman Zubaira Tukhugov – a rostered featherweight fighter – who has been pulled from a fight against Artem Lobov for his part in the melee last weekend.

Nurmagomedov’s actions also prompted a response from boxing supremo Mayweather, who condoned his behaviour and he expects the 30-year-old to be hit with a heavy fine.

He said: “I’m not too familiar with the guy McGregor was fighting, but I know the guy he was facing was undefeated.

“McGregor is a tough competitor but McGregor’s opponent jumped out of the ring and was fighting people in the crowd so, very unprofessional.

“It’s going to be a huge fine I’m pretty sure because with my fight against Zab Judah, there was a crazy melee in the ring and a huge penalty – a huge fine. If I’m not mistaken, seven figures.

“Not to me, but could have been to Zab Judah or my uncle Roger or even Leonard Ellerbe, so I know when a guy’s jumping out of the cage into the audience and fighting different people, the fine is going to be crazy.”

McGregor suffered a 10th-round TKO loss to Mayweather in the ring in Las Vegas in August last year.
