Chelsea news: Maurizio Sarri sends Liverpool and Man City Premier League title warning

That’s according to Maurizio Sarri although the Blues are unbeaten and joint top of the Premier League table.

The Italian is yet to lose a game as Chelsea manager since arriving in July – Chelsea winning eight of his 11 matches and drawing the other two.

Eden Hazard’s form has been the major feature of Sarri’s time at Stamford Bridge so far with the talismanic Belgian already on eight goals in all competitions.

Chelsea were not expected to play a significant part in the title race this season after the hectic summer that preceded Sarri’s appointment.

Yet though Sarri’s charges are neck-and-neck with their two rivals, the manager thinks there is much more to come.

“I’d say this Chelsea side is only at 60-70 per cent capacity right now,” he told Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

“But how much we are missing and how much we need is not the same thing. It’s double that.

“The whole Sarriball thing amuses me. I don’t go on social media, but I did see the fans post these videos with the most passes.

“If I have to be honest, the Chelsea fans aren’t even sure what Sarriball means. They invented this term, pronounce it all in one word and carry on. It’s very funny.

“It’s a dream to be here. I walked into Stamford Bridge and hear this shout: ‘Mauriziooooooo!’ Then the chants, it makes you want to pinch yourself.

“They usually do that for those who have won, but what have I won? I couldn’t believe it.”

Express Sport have learned that Chelsea are keen to sign Genoa front-man Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker has yet to play without scoring this season and has 13 goals in eight matches.

The Polish front-man has therefore popped up on the radar of a number of European giants including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Barcelona.

But it is understood Chelsea and Napoli are the two teams most keen on a deal, which is thought would set either club back around £40million.

Genoa general manager Girgio Perinetti recently declared that Genoa “absolutely exclude” any chance of Piatek leaving mid-way through the campaign.

Chelsea’s current strikers, Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, have scored three goals in total this term – although the latter has two in his last two amid hope of a return to form.
