LeBron James: Lakers star reveals what he is proudest of in his NBA career

The four-time MVP joined LA Lakers over the summer from Cleveland Cavaliers, although his new side have so far failed to impress, recording two wins in five pre-season outings.

James had an incredible record of reaching eight straight finals with the Cavs, although lost three of the four against Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers, meanwhile, haven’t reached a finals since the 2012/13 season.

But should he make a ninth consecutive trip to the finals, it would level him for the second-longest Finals streak in NBA history.

And the 33-year-old’s record in Finals is a tremendous feat.

When asked what it means to him, James said: “The [Finals] streak means a lot.

“To have a streak of anything is significant. Games played, threes made, Finals appearances.

“These are things that you can always talk about when you get older and are done with the game, but at the end of the day, they all come to an end.”

James, meanwhile, put on a stunning show in Lakers’ 123-113 win over Warriors on Wednesday night.

The three-time NBA champion produced an incredible buzzer beater at the end of the first half, sinking a 34-foot shot.

When asked whether Lakers can challenge Warriors for the championship this season, James said: “We’ve got a long way to go to get to Golden State.

“We can only focus on what we can do to get better every day as a Lakers franchise and hopefully some day we can put ourselves in a position where we can compete for a championship as Golden State has done for the past few years.

“There’s only one champion, but that doesn’t mean you’re not successful. There’s going to be wins and losses and things of that nature.”
