FORTNITE TOMATO – UPDATE ONE: The Fortnite tomato challenge is now live.
But unlike the leaked list Fortnite players will just need to hit an opponent from 15m, not 20m as previously though.
You will have to unlock the tomato emote from the Battle Pass to take part, with the first one available at level 28.
ORIGINAL: Fortnite tomato is one of the big challenges for week 3 of the season 6 Battle Pass.
Hit a player with a tomato 20m away or more is one of the regular difficulty paid-for Battle Pass challenges in Fortnite Battle Royale this week.
Completing the Fortnite tomato challenge will reward players with five Battle Stars.
However, Fortnite fans may be left a bit confused by the hit a player with a tomato 20m away week 3 challenge.
Battle Royale players know the Fortnite tomato challenge is coming as it’s one of the leaked Fortnite challenges for this week.
However, as it stands, it would be extremely difficult for most Fortnite players to complete this challenge.
In a video online YouTuber Thirsty Tuber explained that in the season 6 Battle Pass there is an item which lets you pick up and throw tomatoes.
There is the level 28 tomato toy reward and there is also the fancy tomato toy you have to reach the level 76 tier to get.
As Thirsty Tuber explained, it would be rare for Epic Games to release a challenge which requires players to unlock something.
So he speculated that this could mean that a new feature corresponding to this challenge could be added when the week 3 Battle Pass tasks go live.
At the moment the tomatoes that can be found in Battle Royale let players pick up health.
Thirsty Tuber speculated that maybe at full health Fortnite players will soon be able to pick tomatoes to throw at their enemies.
This would make it far easier for Fortnite players to be able to jump into this challenge, instead of waiting to unlock the fancy tomato toy.
However, whether this turns out to be true remains to be seen.
