Pixel 3 has a big missing feature but Google fans should not be too concerned

fans finally got their first official look at the last night.

These refreshed devices were shown to the world at a major keynote in New York with them arriving packed with bonus features and upgrades.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will arrive in stores early next month and both get improved speed, wireless charging and are more robust due to their IP68 rating.

These premium devices feature an impressive OLED screen with the Pixel 3 including a 5.5-inch display and the XL getting an edge-to-edge 6.3-inch screen.

There’s also an improvement to the already brilliant single rear camera with the Pixel 3 offering better pictures in low light and the ability to zoom with more accuracy.

Google has also included a feature called Top Shot which uses some clever AI to help users capture the perfect photo every time.

The US technology firm says that when you take a motion photo, it captures alternate shots in HDR+, then recommends the best one—even if it’s not exactly when you hit the shutter—looking for those where everyone is smiling, with eyes open, and facing the camera.

Along with the rear camera getting an upgrade, there’s also an update to the front-facing selfie camera which can now get 184 percent more room in photos and can automatically shoot a selfie when you smile.

These camera upgrades are likely to mean more photos being snapped every day and here’s where the Pixel 3 falls short of the competition.

Apple and Samsung have both announced phones in recent months that come with a mammoth 512GB of internal storage.

This allows thousands of files to be stored directly on the phone.

Sadly, Google is only releasing a 64GB and 128GB version of their devices meaning its rivals can hold a vast amount more data than these new flagships.

Luckily, Google isn’t leaving users high and dry.

The firm announced last night that it will offer free and unlimited photo and video storage in original resolution via Google Photos.

Google says, as long as you have a Photos account, it’s hassle-free, you don’t have to think about back-ups.

Come back to Google Photos later and search for the beach photos you took on your Pixel 3, and they’ll pop right up.

IF this storage has put you off then the new Pixels will be available from November 1.

The Pixel 3 starts from £739 SIM-free and the XL will set you back £869.

Along with the updated phones, Google also revealed a new tablet called the Pixel Slate and a smart Home Hub device.
