Why Kate Middleton cut her hair after giving birth to Prince Louis revealed

Kate Middleton is one of the most watched women in the world as the wife of heir to the throne Prince William, 36.

She returned to the limelight recently after her maternity leave by appearing at a school.

Donning a £1,005 outfit, Kate Middleton wore boots from Penelope Chilvers worth £475.

The Duchess of Cambridge also debuted a slightly shorter hair cut.

An expert has explained why Kate may have gone for the chop after giving birth to Prince Louis.

Claire Smith from The Baby Show told OK! magazine claimed there is a very sensible reason for new mums to cut their hair.

She said: “Many mums have enough to worry about when they have a new baby and their hair is often one of the last things on their mind, so it becomes a natural option for many to make it more manageable and cut it shorter.

“Kate is extremely lucky to have lovely thick hair and whether she has it long, or short, it looks beautiful.”

Kate’s hair has been much admired for its thickness and shine since her relationship with Prince William came to light.

In her younger years the Duchess wore her hair long and in tumbling curls.

However, in recent times, like many women, Kate has adopted a chic bob look.

While this could be a natural style progression, it may also be an adaption to motherhood, according to Claire.

The expert added: “Looking after long hair takes time and effort, whether you have an army of people behind you or not, so it’s often a mummy trend to cut your hair shorter.”

Keira Knightley slammed Kate Middleton recently for her pristine appearances after having her children.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s appearance outside the Lindo Wing has been criticised by actress Keira Knightley.

The actress has suggested that the royal’s polished appearance just hours after the birth of her second child promotes an unrealistic image of childbirth.

Keira said: “She was out of hospital seven hours later with her face made up and high heels on.

“The face the world wants to see…Don’t show. Don’t tell.

“Stand there with your girl and be shot by a pack of male photographers.”

How did Kate Middleton become a royal?

Early life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.

She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.

Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.

Education

Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.

After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.

For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.

Relationship with Prince William

Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.

In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.

The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.

Wedding

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.

On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.

Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
