Fortnite Skull Trooper is BACK: Epic Games Twitter teases latest skins for item shop

A new message from Epic Games suggests that the rare Skull Trooper skin from season 1 will be returning to the game.

A lot of unofficial information has been piling up that suggests the return of the popular Fortnite design.

Data miners have found evidence for being part of the Halloween celebrations this year, having been absent for quite some time.

And now Epic Games themselves have dropped a big hint that the Skull Trooper will be returning to the item shop this week.

A new message on Twitter features a skull emoji and a pickaxe, along with the word “soon”.

It’s not the most subtle hint and appears to fit in with other teasers laid out by the development earlier this year.

The start of season 6 featured the Skull Trooper in the Darkness Rises trailer, something that seemed to point to its return.

A season 1 outfit popping up in an official Epic Games video seemed like an obvious hint that the rare design was set to make a comeback.

So it looks like the Skull Trooper will be back before Halloween, along with new back bling and other spooky items.

Data miners have found a Ghost Portal item which could fit in well with the Skull Trooper, among a range of other skins, pickaxes and emotes.

It also looks like a Skull Range skins might be added to the game soon too, which would be the counterpart to the Skull Trooper.

Seven skins have been found that have some connection to the spooky season, all of which can be found below:

  • Scourge (Female) – cid_240_athena_commando_f_plague
  • Plague (Male) – cid_241_athena_commando_m_plague
  • Bullseye (Female) – cid_242_athena_commando_f_bullseye
  • Hollowhead (Male) – cid_243_athena_commando_m_pumpkinslice
  • Squashman (Male) – cid_244_athena_commando_m_pumpkinsuit
  • Onesie (Female) – cid_245_athena_commando_f_durrburgerpjs
  • Skull Ranger (Female) – cid_246_athena_commando_f_grave

The first Halloween skins went live earlier this week, with two new scarecrow designs being released to the item shop.

This sparked some players into using a devious new tactic to help them get the drop on other players.

These include the Hay Man and Straw Ops designs, both of which are Scarecrows.

And players have been posting new footage of themselves surprising players by pretending to be a prop.

Epic Games have been slowly releasing new Halloween decorations, while Scarecrows have been found around the map, making it easier to blend in.

The secret to success is using the new skins with the T-Pose emote, which mimics a hanging Scarecrow.

By combining these two things, some players have struck gold and managed to trick their fellow Battle Royale players.

It’s both sneaky and satisfying and is only available to those players who have bought the Scarecrow skins and T-Pose emote.

Players interested in the new Halloween designs could also purchase the Field Wraith glider for 1,200 V-Bucks, and the Scythe Harvester tool for 800 V-Bucks.
