PS5 release UPDATE: This HUGE game could be coming to PS4 successor

PS5 release news today features an update on a huge game that could be coming to the successor.

We know for certain the PlayStation 5 is coming, the question remains when the PS5 release date will be.

PlayStation exec Shawn Layden last year confirmed that the PS5 is on the horizon, but did not give any indication of when a release date could be.

Latest predictions claim the PS5 could launch next year, with respected analysts Ace Securities saying it could be “introduced” by the end of 2019.

And now new rumours have shone a light on one high-profile game that could be coming to the PS5.

One big game that fans haven’t heard much about since getting revealed is Square Enix’s Avengers project.

Announced at the start of 2017 with a short teaser trailer, no footage or updates have since been revealed.

Fans were left hoping Square Enix were going to give an update at E3 2018 during their event but that came and passed without a word on it.

But now a new job listing could be hinting that the Square Enix Avengers game is coming to next generation consoles.

Crystal Dynamics are developing the upcoming Avengers game, and now Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out the Marvel project is their most high-profile project in the works.

And a new job listing, which you can check out by clicking here, reveals they are looking for an engineer to work on a project for next gen consoles.

The job description is looking for someone with “experience with current and next gen platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, and PC”.

Could this be a sign that the Avengers game is coming to the PS5 and the Xbox Project Scarlett?

The latest news comes after the PS5 rumour mill was sent into overdrive as it was revealed Sony are not holding a PSX event this year.

Sony chairman Shawn Layden revealed the news last week.

On the PlayStation Blogcast he revealed: “Now that we have Spider-Man out the door, we’re looking down in 2019 to games like Dreams and Days Gone, but we wouldn’t have enough to bring people all together in some location in North America to have that event.

“We don’t want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on it. It was a hard decision, but we have determined that this year we will not hold PlayStation Experience.”

This has left fans wondering whether PSX has been cancelled as Sony are gearing up for a big PS5 console and games announcement.

Will the PSX be back in 2019, complete with a big announcement?

And is there a chance that they could hold a PSX event much earlier in the year so that they can reveal their latest console?
