Outlook DOWN – Microsoft Outlook not working as email users struggle to login

Microsoft Outlook is down this afternoon with hundreds of users complaining of a major outage.

Fans have reported that the popular email service, that covers both Outlook and Hotmail accounts, is not working.

Website outage monitor Down Detector is showing issues across the UK and other parts of Europe with the problems starting at around 12.30pm.

When Outlook emails are accessed, users are confronted with an error message saying, “Something went wrong”, and they are then asked to use “correct URL”

Users have now flooded social media with their frustrations with one saying: “Looks like #Microsoft is down? Got signed out of all my emails and my password doesn’t work for anything. Looks like everyone else is having this problem also?”

And another added: “@MicrosoftHelps why has the @Outlook gone down? I need access to important emails.”

There’s currently no word on what is causing the problems or when things will be fully back online.

Reports suggest that as of early 2018, Outlook.com had around 400 million active users. However, that number hasn’t changed as drastically as Gmail’s statistics.

The US search giant is now thought to have over one billion people using its popular email client.
