Destiny 2 Weekly Reset time, Forsaken reveal, Ascendant Challenge for PS4 and Xbox One

The Destiny 2 Weekly Reset time is scheduled for tomorrow, October 9, meaning the end of various activities and events in the popular shooter.

This will be the fourth reset since the Forsaken expansion went live, with not much time left before progress will be wiped.

Bungie will be resetting Destiny 2 on Tuesday, October 2, at around 6pm in the UK.

For players in the United States, it means a much earlier reset time of 10am PST and 1pm EST.

The Weekly Reset will also affect the bounty for the Ascendant Challenge, which made its debut in the Forsaken expansion.

It’s proven a popular new part of the recent update and is part of Bungie’s new three-week content cycle.

Here’s what Bungie has planned for some of the other aspects of their Forsaken expansion activities which use the same cycle.

“During week three of the curse cycle, also known as a full-curse week, the Ascendant Primeval Servitor will have almost the same chance to spawn as any other Primeval,” Bungie writes in a recent blogpost.

“We will also be increasing the chance for the boss to spawn during lesser-curse weeks, but it will still be lower than during a full-curse week.

“For full transparency, since the Ascendant Primeval Servitor spawn rate will increase significantly when these changes are released, we are tweaking how ship and Sparrow rewards drop from the boss.

“Vanity items are no longer guaranteed drops for subsequent boss kills after you earn the quest, instead, the vanity items will now only have a chance to drop.”

For those waiting to jump into the new challenge at the Dreaming City, the bounty comes from Petra and will require a Tincture of Queensfoil.

DESTINY WEEKLY RESET

As usual, the weekly reset will affect various activities in the game, such as:

Progress and rewards connected to Destination Flashpoints, Raid Challenges, Raid Checkpoints, Nightfall Strike, Weekly Clan Engrams, Weekly Clan XP Caps, Eververse Bright Dust and Prismatic Matrix Selections.

There will also be hard resets made to the Spider’s Wanted Bounty line-up, and Xur will disappear again until Friday.

It should also be noted that while the October 9 reset, happening on Tuesday, will not include an update to download, the next two following it will

Destiny update 2.04 and 2.05 are launching on October 16 and October 30, meaning some disruption to the current format.

So as a recap, the official Destiny 2 weekly reset affects Nightfall Strikes and the ongoing Raid, and also acts as the countdown to complete these tasks.

If you complete them before the reset, you will have to wait until the following Tuesday to start them again and collect new rewards.

This is also when a lot of the game’s milestones get refreshed, which means weekly challenges, destination Flashpoints, call to arms, clan XP and clan XP rewards.
