Black Ops 4 UPDATE: Preload details and Blackout CHANGE revealed ahead of COD release date

Black Ops 4 will be out soon with the big release date and Blackout battle royale launch fast approaching.

Black Ops 4 is out this Friday with fans on PS4, Xbox One and PCs getting ready for the big launch.

And ahead of the Call of Duty release date developers Treyarch have revealed details on the Black Ops 4 preload.

So far details on the Black Ops 4 preload has only been revealed for PC fans, but the start of it is fast approaching.

Preload for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 on Battle.net will begin on Tuesday October 9.

An exact time hasn’t been given, but it will go live in the morning for those on pacific time – meaning an afternoon launch for fans in the UK.

In other news Treyarch have also revealed that they have increased the revive time for downed teammates in the Black Ops 4 Blackout mode.

When the Blackout beta was running the revive time was three seconds.

But for launch it will be five seconds, giving players an extra window of opportunity to help out their fallen teammates.

In a post on Reddit, Treyarch said: “Blackout was 3 seconds revive in beta and we’ve increased it to 5 seconds for launch.

“We’ve also slightly increased downed crawl speed.

“With a faster crawl which allows you to reach cover quicker, we felt a slightly longer revive time was needed.

“An increased revive time also encourages the use of the Medic perk, which reduces revive time by 50% among other things.

“That said, we enjoy the gameplay around revive times at a quicker pace compared to the genre standard.”

In other Call of Duty Black Ops 4 news fans have been delivered an encouraging update.

It had previously been revealed that the back of the Black Ops 4 cover said the game required a hefty 100GB of hard drive space.

However, the official listings on the PS Store and Microsoft Store list the file sizes as under 50GB.

As GearNuke reported, the box art could be taking into account a day one patch which would increase the overall file size needed to start playing.
