Real Madrid CRISIS: Lopetegui loses support from FIVE players including Modric and Bale

Real Madrid only appointed Lopetegui in the summer after Zinedine Zidane walked away from the club.

Lopetegui has endured a rocky start at the Bernabeu and Real are winless in three games heading into this weekend’s clash with Alaves.

The sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus and subsequent failure to land a replacement superstar was one of the major setbacks to Real’s summer.

And it appears some of the Real players are not happy with how the manager is going about things.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim five key players are turning against the boss.

Experienced heads Luka Modric and Gareth Bale are joined by Keylor Navas, Marcelo and Mariano in reportedly voicing their concern about the manager.

Mundo Deportivo claim a number of Lopetegui’s players do not understand his decisions and that the situation could ‘get worse’.

Marcelo is said to have been angry with the manager during the 4-1 win at Girona back in August.

Madrid is unhappy at being regularly placed on the bench by the manager, while Bale is also affected at being subbed in games at the start of the season.

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas remains confused about his situation now Thibaut Courtois has joined the squad.

And Mundo Deportivo claim Mariano is angry and Benzema maintains his spot in the Real XI despite failing to score since September 1.

Lopetegui is already a controversial figure at Real after he lost his job managing Spain on the eve of the World Cup, when it emerged he had agreed to join Los Blancos once the tournament was over.

Spain endured a miserable World Cup and Lopetegui started his reign as Real boss during the knockout stages.

The manager was unable to sign a replacement for Ronaldo, but there are claims the Real board is ready to back their man in the transfer market.

Paul Pogba, Neymar and Eden Hazard are all .

However, the club have a track record in axing high-profile managers if results continue to turn sour.

Back in 2015 they appointed Rafa Benitez from Napoli but the Spaniard lasted less than a year before being axed midway through the La Liga season.

He was replaced by Zinedine Zidane, who led Real to three successive Champions League titles before leaving the club this summer.
