Premier League referee Kevin Friend caught with FUNNY object during West Ham vs Brighton

Glenn Murray’s strike after 25 minutes separated the two sides during an entertaining fixture at the Amex Stadium on Friday night.

But there was a rather hilarious, if not embarrasing incident that the match official may not want to be reminded of!

Cameras picked up Friend holding a huge rubber penis which had been thrown in by the crowd.

Friend, however, took things in his stride and remained calm and collected and refused to make a scene.

Instead, he just removed the object from the pitch.

Neither manager was asked about the flashpoint after the match.

However, boss Manuel Pellegrini revealed his frustration after the game as he felt the Hammers didn’t deserve to leave empty-handed.

“I am frustrated because I think we do the things to win the game,” he said.

“We had three clear chances to score and didn’t.

“They had one chance in the first half and then defended. We deserved more.

“The first 35 minutes we were not at the pace needed, especially to fight for the second balls.

“The team is in progress. We didn’t play a bad game, we were better than Brighton, but with eight games played we don’t have too many points. We must continue improving.”
