Jackson has written the movie with his long-term partner Phillippa Boyens, based on the bestselling novels by Phillip Reeve.
The epic adventure is directed by Oscar-winning visual-effects artist Christian Rivers (King Kong) and stars Hugo Weaving as the villainous Thaddeus Valentine with newcomer Hera Hilmar as a young girl who could change the course of history.
Mortal Engines is out in UK cinemas December 8.
